Bhatkal: A 19-year-old youth was killed, another injured when their speeding car rammed into a tree at Sagar Road, Bhatkal on Saturday early morning. The deceased was identified as Saifan Kad-dari, who was  driving the car.

Nawaz Malpa (20) who was sitting on the front seat was critically injured and taken to Manipal hospital.

According to sources, the incident happened at around 4: 30 am in the morning, when four of the friends were approaching Bhatkal from Sagar road. The speedily driven car lost it's control and went on colliding with the road side tree, killing Saifan instantly on the spot. When the incident reported, the other two youths sitting at rear in the car started asking for help with the moving cars. Sadly, none came forward with the helping hand. Later they phoned up for Ambulance, which arrived after a while. But till then, Saifan was unable to bear the pain and breathed his last. While, Nawaz Malpa was taken to Manipal hospital after providing initial treatments at Bhatkal govt hospital.

The body of deceased Saifan is shifted at Bhatkal govt hospital for post mortem process. As the news spread in the morning, hundreds of people gathered at the hospital campus.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal police station.
