Bhatkal: Bhatkal Town Municipal Council (TMC) election, candidates supported by Tanzeem successfully retained the ULB. In the previous term, independent candidates backed by Tanzeem had formed the body and they continue to rule the roost even this time.

Of the 23 wards, elected representatives of 12 wards were elected unopposed. This included three Congress candidates and nine Tanzeem-backed independent candidates. Elections were held for the remaining 11 seats.

This time, Tanzeem candidates bagged 15 seats. BJP which had bagged one seat last time had to be content with only one seat even this time and the Congress bagged four seats.

Another three seats were bagged by independents.
