Mundgod: Buddhist monk electrocuted

Mundgod: A Buddhist monk died after being electrocuted at Tibetan Camp No 1 in Mundgod taluk on Thursday while he was trying to host a flag to welcome Tibetan Spiritual Guru the Dalai Lama, who will be coming to Mundgod Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Tssultrim Lobsang Chephel. Monk Tsultrim of Gajang Monastery in Camp No 1. It is said that when he was trying to fix the flags near Lopa Khangstan, he came in contact with a live electric wire due to which he fell down. He was immediately taken to a hospital but be was declared brought dead.

The monks of Gajang Monastery have registered a case in this regard.
