Udupi: A man was found dead in a forested area of Madaga near Hiriyadka here on July 14.

The deceased has been identified as Sheikh Mohammed Tasleen (32), a resident of Hoode near Kemmannu and was working in Manipal.

The incident came to light in the evening on July 14. The police suspect it to be a murder. Police found that deceased had injuries on the neck and the murder weapon is said to be a hockey stick which was found on the crime scene.  The police have recovered a black Volkswagen car, 300 meters from the crime scene. The police suspect that the deceased was murdered in some other place and his body was then thrown here.

Fingerprint experts and canine squad reached the spot for further investigation. DySP Kumarswamy, CPI Girish and CPI Arunkumar visited the crime scene for further investigation. A case has been registered in the Hiriyadka Police Station.
