Bhatkal: A bike rider was killed when his bike collided with toofan tempo near Hadvalli on Sagar road in Bhatkal on Sunday evening.

The deceased bike rider has been identified as Rasha Manjappa (50), a farmer by profession.

It was reported that he was returning from Sante Market (Sunday market)to his native Nagavalli in Sagar taluk when a toofan tempo bearing registration number of Tumkur was coming from the opposite direction. He fell on the road when the tempo collided with his bike and died on the spot.

Body of the deceased has been taken to Bhatkal Government hospital for post mortem.

It is said that he is survived by his wife, five daughters and a son. It is learnt that the family has come under terrible circumstances since he was the sole breadwinner of the family.
