Udupi: A 36-year-old rider was killed on the spot after a private bus ran over him at Jantra in Belmannu on Tuesday.

Police have identified the deceased as Dinesh Acharya.

Acharya was on his way to Belmannu from Shirva when a speeding motor bike hit his vehicle. He fell on the road and a private bus ran over his head killing him on the spot.

A case is registered in Karkala Rural police station.
