Inayatullah Gawai and Vasanth Bhat chosen for 'Bhatta Kalanka' Award

Bhatkal: Bhatkal Journalist Association, under the patronage of Karnataka Journalist Association, has selected two prominent reporters from Uttara Kannada, Mr. Inayathulla Gawai, editor of SahilOnline, Bhatkal and Mr. Vasantha Kumar Katagala, Karwar district reporter for a renowned Kannada daily Kannada Prabha, for its very first 'Bhattakalanka' award.  This award is being presented in the memoir of Bhatta Kalanka, famous kannada grammatist.

In a press release Bhatkal Journalist Association states that the main criteria for the selection is the individual's contribution to the field of journalism along with the integrity and the two were unanimously elected during the Union's meeting held on last Thursday. Both of them have contributed to the media for more than two decades and have been successful in creating an impression in the field of journalism. Social awareness, craving for latest and important news and reporting it with integrity are some of the qualities recognized by the Association. Both of them shall be awarded with this prestigious award during the state convention to be held in November at Bhatkal.

More than 200 reporters from various parts of the state are expected to attend this program.

Vishnu Devadiga and Manmohan Naik, president and secretary of Bhatkal Journalist Association alogn with the members Subramaniam Bhat, Ramachandra Kini, Vasantha Devadiga, Shankara Naik and others were present in the meeting.
