Bhatkal: One person was killed and another injured when a bike in which they were travelling was hit by a car in Bijoor, comes under Byndoor police station limit on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Manjunath Hasler (32) who hailed from Chowtani in Bhatkal taluk.
According to sources, Ganesh's marriage was fixed on 28th April and he along with his mother Geeta Manjunath went to Byndoor to invite relatives for the marriage ceremony on his bike. It is said that a red colour car hit the bike and fled from the scene at Bijoor NH 66. Ganesh who was injured seriously was taken to a private hospital in Udupi immediately, where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening. Mother Geeta survived the accident with minor injuries.
A case has been registered in Byndoor police station and police are investigating the hit and run case.
