Bhatkal: Demonitized currency notes worth Rs.18 Lakh seized in Train

Bhatkal: According to the sources, a person was arrested during a joint operation by the railway police and the civil police of Bhatkal town, with demonetized notes worth Rs.18 lakh at Bhatkal railway station, on 7th April, Friday.

The arrested person has been identified at a resident of Manjeshwar town in Kerala named Mohiddin Abdulla. He seized money included Rs.500 and Rs.1000 demonetized notes.

A tip-off was received by the Bhatkal railway police stating that a person is carrying banned notes and based upon this tip-off which was thereon passed to town police, the operation was executed. Both of them formed their own teams and waited till the cash was found and seized.

The police have not yet found any details of money trail.
