
Bhatkal: Hafiz Abdul Qadir Dangi (79), the Qazi of Tengangundi Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen and administrator of Madrasa Arabia Taleem-ul-Quran, Tengangundi, was seriously injured in a road accident near Koteshwar, Kundapur. After receiving initial medical treatment at Kundapur hospital, he was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The accident occurred around 10:30 PM on Thursday when Qazi Sahib was returning to Bhatkal from Mangaluru with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Their car collided with a road divider on the Koteshwar National Highway before crashing into an electric pole.

Qazi Sahib sustained injuries to his face, head, and both hands. His son, Maulana Atiqur Rahman Dangi Nadvi, daughter-in-law Fatima Musfira, and four-year-old granddaughter Ismat were also injured. All three are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. The front portion of the car was severely damaged due to the impact.
It is learned that Qazi Sahib had traveled to Mangaluru for a mandatory medical check-up as part of preparations for his Umrah journey on April 9.
Upon receiving news of the accident, several responsible members of Tengangundi Jamaat and Madrasa officials rushed to Kundapur Hospital to inquire about Qazi Sahib’s condition and pray for his speedy recovery.
