Bhatkal: Bhatkal Urban and Rural Police Station jointly celebrated 31st 'Road Safety Week' at Shamsuddin Circle here on Monday.
After flagging off the 'Road Safety Week' campaign, Sanchal Kumar, Bhatkal CPI, said that negligence or irresponsible driving or riding endangers not only one's own life but also the lives of other people. In any case, if we keep safety and traffic rules in mind while riding or driving, we may be safe. Everyone must follow the traffic rules. In this regard, everyone has to be vigilant and create awareness in others as well. He said that 'Road Safety Week' is being observed from November 23 to 30 and people should cooperate in this regard. If there is any suggestions in this regard, Bhatkal citizens should reach the police station.
For the first two days of the week, riders and drivers will be informed about road safety without imposing any penalty, and various programs will be organized in traffic and congested areas to create awareness. From November 25, strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the traffic rules. The police department is holding a week-long campaign to prevent road accidents in Bhatkal. He appealed the people to support this small effort and make it a success.
On this occasion, the riders passing through Shamsuddin Circle were given roses and appealed to them to adopt road safety rules. Bike rally was taken from Shamsuddin Circle passing through different parts of the city to create awareness about road safety principles.
