Bhatkal: In light of persistent heavy rainfall over the past two weeks, Eid-ul-Adha prayers across Bhatkal and surrounding areas will be held in Juma Masjids this year, rather than at the traditional open-air Eidgahs.
The Eid-ul-Adha festival, which will be observed from June 7 to June 10, 2025, across most parts of India, coincides with a continued spell of monsoon showers—particularly affecting Karnataka’s coastal belt. As a precautionary measure, Eidgah committees have collectively decided to shift prayer arrangements to Juma Masjids.
In Bhatkal, major congregational mosques such as Jamia Masjid, Khaleefa Jamia Masjid, Tanzeem Milliya Masjid, Bilal Juma Masjid, and Makhdoomiya Juma Masjid will hold prayers at 7:00 AM. Other mosques, including Masjid Madina, Masjid Noor, Masjid Abu Zar, Masjid Hamza, Masjid Badriya, Masjid Umair, Masjid Imam Bukhari, Masjid Ahmad Saeed, and Syedna Ibrahim Masjid (Jamia Abad), will begin prayers at 7:15 AM.
At Tengingundi Jamia Masjid, the Eid congregation is scheduled for 7:30 AM, while Rehmania Masjid in Shirali will host prayers at 7:45 AM. Ali Miyan Masjid will conduct prayers at 8:00 AM.
In Murdeshwar, Jamia Masjid and Noor Masjid will hold prayers at 6:30 AM, Masjid Hussain at 6:35 AM, and both Ghausia Masjid and Muhammadiya Masjid at 6:40 AM.
In Honnavar taluk, Manki Jamia Masjid and Usman Bin Affan Masjid will host prayers at 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM, respectively. Eid prayers in other areas such as Valki Juma Masjid and Roshan Mohalla Juma Masjid will also be held at 7:00 AM, while Samsi Juma Masjid, Sadalgi, and Gersoppa mosques are scheduled for 7:30 AM.
Honnavar Jamia Masjid and Tonka Juma Masjid will conduct Eid prayers at 8:00 AM.
In Kumta taluk, Jamia Masjid will hold prayers at 8:00 AM, while Honalli Jamia Masjid and Farooqi Mohalla Jamia Masjid have scheduled prayers for 7:30 AM.
Local authorities and mosque committees have advised worshippers to arrive early and follow safety protocols due to wet conditions around mosque premises. With weather uncertainties looming, the indoor shift aims to ensure that the spiritual observance of Eid takes place peacefully and without disruption.
