Bhatkal: A meeting of representatives of various political parties in the Bhatkal-Honnavar Assembly constituency was held on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls-2026.

The meeting, chaired by Electoral Registration Officer and Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner G. Mahesh, reviewed the revision schedule, preparatory arrangements, and the roles of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs).

Officials stressed the need for coordination between election staff and political parties to ensure accurate and error-free electoral rolls. Information was shared on the inclusion of new voters, correction of voter details, and updating records of shifted voters.

BLOs will conduct door-to-door verification during the revision process, while political parties were urged to extend full cooperation.

Officials said the active participation of political parties is essential for improving the quality of electoral rolls.

Tahsildar Nagendra Kolashetti, election section officials, office staff, and representatives of various political parties attended the the meeting.
