Bhatkal: State Government has sanctioned Rs. 7.5 crore for the development of Bhatkal town and the amount should be utilised properly in all the reuquired wards. Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya visited different wards and examined the situations recently. He met with the people of those regions with local councillors, TMC president and other officials to get a better idea of the problems.
The MLA examined the main roads, internal canals, drainage system and the protective walls and stated to the officials to jot down in the plan list. The MLA along with councillors and officers visited all the areas through walks from National Highway to Mood Bhatkal, Chautani and Gajanan Street, later he came to Jamia street through which he reached to Ghausia street passing from Qazia street and Mushma street.
After reaching Ghousia street, local people demanded to transfer the drainage pumping station to an other place as they are tired by waiting for a development as they have complained about this issue to other officers and something has yet to be done. People informed that all the drainage water is released to the river due to which all the wells are in an un-usable condtion. The water of the wells are polluted by the drainage water and people did not get drinking water. MLA inspected the drainage canal where the water was released to the river. He also inspected the wells where all the drainage water was gathered. He was disappointed with the TMC works and said that the decision of the drainage pumping station in this highly populated area is wrong. He assured the people that he will do his best to solve the problem.
He walked to Dongar palli passing from Khalifa street and Daranta. He instructed the muncipal engineer to build the small bridge in Daranta which had collapsed and caused danger for the passers. He also instructed the TMC president Muhammed Sadique Matta to connect the newly constructed road of Dongar Palli to Hazrat makhdoom dargah, as per the demands of Donger Palli people.
Vice president of TMC, Ashfaqye K.M, Standing committee chairman, Mohammed Qaisar Mohtesham, other TMC members, SM Parvez, Krishnanand Pai, Fayyaz Mulla, Venkatesh, Sandeep, National Highway authority engineer Malikarjun, amongst TMC engineer and other officers were present.
