Inter district kabaddi tournament to be held in Bhatkal from 6 Jan

Bhatkal: Sultan Youth Welfare Association (SYWA) is organizing inter district kabaddi tournament which is to be held in Bhatkal taluka stadium from 6th to 8th of January, said Abdul Sami Medical, general secretary of SYWA. Briefing the media about tournament, he said that  “The aim of this tournament is to promote harmony between Hindu and Muslims and to boost the potential of new players. It will be a platform for boys to show their skills” he added.   

25 teams representing 10 -11 districts are expected to participate in the tournament, including 10 teams from Bhatkal. He added that each team will be allowed a maximum of three players from out of district.

The matches will be played at taluka stadium formerly known as YMSA ground, from 4:00pm to 11:00 pm for 3 day/nights. The first prize will be 55,555 rupees and a trophy for winners and the runners up will get Rs. 33,333 rupees and a trophy.

President of SYWA Abdul Azeem Mohtisham, Secretary Maulana Abubakar Nadvi, joint secretary Ambar kobatte and Secretary of Taluka Kabaddi association Shridhar Naik, amongst many other members of SYWA were present in the press conference.
