Bhatkal: DySP Gautham said that misconceptions among the people regarding Covid-19 had to be cleared and those who are spreading false information will be warned of legal action.

He was speaking in  a press meet organized at Tahsildar office in Bhatkal on Saturday.

He urged people to stop spreading wrong information through fake forwards on social media platforms. Such messages will face stringent legal action. Cases will be filed against those spreading false information on social media under IT act, he added.

Officials of different departments should consider this as a social responsibility and create awareness among the people regarding symptoms of Covid-19 and precautionary measures that need to be taken.
