Bhatkal: Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council (BMKC) has come up with an initiative to felicitate community leader Dr. SM Syed Khaleelur Rahman with the title of 'Iftikhare Qaum' (Honour of the community) for his outstanding services towards betterment and welfare of the community.

Addressing a press conference held at Rabita Society in Bhatkal, secretary general of the Council, Mr. Ateequr Rahman Muniri said that in recognition of the services of Dr. SM Syed Khalilur Rahman, a speciy felicitation program is being organized in Dubai on December 10 in which he will be felicitated and honoured with the title of 'Iftikhare Qaum' which means 'Honour of the community'. A video documentary will be released highlighting the personality, the ups and downs of his life and his services to the community. 

The program will start at 7 PM at Grand IT Hotel, Dubai. Qazis of Bhatkal Maulana Abdur Rab Nadvi  and Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani will be present as special guests in the event. To make the program interesting, the famous Nawayath poet Syed Samiullah Barmawar will also participate. 

Mr. Atiq Muniri said that the entire program will be broadcasted live on YouTube channel and its link will be shared through WhatsApp and other social media platforms.

Secretary of Bhatkal Muslim Gulf Council Maulvi Moula Karani and Treasurer Jailani Mohtsham were also present in the press conference.
