Bhatkal: An argument over a cattle theft issue in Bhatkal allegedly escalated into an assault, following which a complaint and a counter-complaint were filed at the Bhatkal Town Police Station.
In her complaint, Rohini Venkatesh Naik, 42, a resident near Pushpanjali Theatre in Mankuli, alleged that Parameshwar Rama Naik and Ravi Ningappa Jali abused her and assaulted her during an argument over the cattle issue.
In a counter-complaint, Parameshwar Naik of Jali alleged that he had gone to Devendra Naik’s computer centre to pay an insurance premium when Rohini Naik arrived there, allegedly assaulted him with a slipper and abused his wife and family members.
He further alleged that Rohini Naik had earlier threatened him and his son through WhatsApp, saying that they would be killed by being cut with a sword.
The Bhatkal Town Police have registered both complaints and initiated an investigation.
