Bhatkal: Around 70 students from Bhatkal departed for Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow on Friday night to pursue higher Islamic studies, among whom 55 had recently graduated from Jamia Islamia Bhatkal with the Aalim course.
A large crowd, including parents, teachers, relatives, and local residents, gathered at the Bhatkal Railway Station to bid farewell to the students, creating an emotional and heartfelt atmosphere. On this occasion, the Principal of Jamia Islamia, Maulana Maqbool Kobatte Nadvi, offered valuable advice to the students and prayed for their success before their departure.
To accompany and guide the students during the long journey, Jamia Islamia deputed Maulana Wasiullah D.F. Nadvi and Maulana Muazzam Shabandri Nadvi, who are also travelling with the group to Lucknow.

Speaking to SahilOnline, Maulana Wasiullah D.F. Nadvi shared that more than 70 students from Bhatkal travel to Nadwatul Ulama each year for advanced Islamic education, and this year too, the tradition continues.
It is worth mentioning that Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, the largest Islamic seminary following the Shafi’i school of thought in the region, offers religious education from Qur’an memorization to the Aalim (Islamic scholar) course. After completing their studies here, students typically proceed to Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow to pursue higher Islamic specializations.
