Bengaluru based tourist drowns in Murdeshwar beach, dies

Bhatkal: A Bengaluru based tourist drowned while playing in Murdeshwar beach in the taluk on Sunday, who was identified as Manjunath Venkatesh Madival, aged 20, a resident of Bansandra in Bengaluru.

It is learned that Manjunath along with seven of his friends had reached Murdeshwar on Sunday evening after visiting Shimoga. At around 9:30 AM, a total of six people went down to swim in the sea, during which Manjunath was badly caught in the waves. Local fishermen saw him struggling to reach the shores, and tried to save him and pulled him out of the sea, but he died on arrival to the hospital.

About Manjunath, he was a medical practitioner in Bengaluru. His family members have been informed about the incident.

A case has been registered in Murdeshwar police station.
