Mangaluru: A bandh was called by Muslim league in Kasargod assembly area condemning the murder of Madrasa teacher Riyaz (34) on Tuesday. No vehicles including private, public transport moved on the roads following the protest called by the party. Small clashes, stone pelting, lathi charge incidents were reported in Kasaragod town and nearby areas during bandh.
It is reported that the Kerala police put all security measures to prevent critical situation in the district and state following brutal murder of Madrassa teacher on March 20, Monday midnight near Kasaragod town. Yet, the Kerala police do not have any clue on the murderers and investigation is continuing in various angles, targeting various places in Kerala and Karnataka.
The police is keeping a close eye on the Kasaragod town and near by areas as the region is communal sensitive and communal clashes can occur at any time on minor issues.
