Assembly session is called for namesake, says U T Khader

Mangaluru: MLA U T Khader alleged that Karnataka has a ‘misleading government’.

The government has no aims. The government is trying to divert the attention of the people from its failures and corruption charges, he told reporters at Circuit House recently.

“The government has called for a session only for eight days in order to pass 28 bills amid the burning issues faced by the people. Of the eight days, one day will be for condolence. How much can we discuss in the remaining seven days?” he asked.

The session is for namesake. The government is conspiring to pass the acts that are against the interest of farmers, labourers and the poor people.

The amendment to the Land Reforms Act, the APMC Act and modifications to labour laws are dangerous. It will affect labourers and the farmers, he warned.

The session should be extended for a minimum of 10 days. Otherwise, all the proposed 28 bills that will be passed in the session should be dropped, he urged.

Further, he said India is a country of numerous languages, known for its diversity. The imposition of one language is an attack on the regional language.

A language is not spoken alone. It is a culture. The government should not impose any language on the people, he said while condemning the imposition of Hindi.
