Karwar: Patil Vinayak Vasantrao has been appointed as the new Superintendent of the Police of Uttara kannada district. Earlier he served as the Superintendent of Police of Yadgir district.  The incumbent, C. Vamsi Krishna, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police in Uttara Kannada has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Haveri.

Vasantrao hails from Maharashtra and is the 2011 IPS batch officer.
