Mangaluru: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has urged the government to disburse compensation to the family of Masood, who was killed in Kalanja village in Bellare in Sullia taluk on July 21 and Mahammed Fazil of Mangalpete in Surathkal, who was hacked to death on Thursday.

SDPI state committee member Ataulla Jokatte said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who visited the house of Praveen Nettaru should also visit the houses of Fazil and Masood and console the family members.

The CM should sanction Rs 25 lakh each to the family of Masood and Fazil. He should also ensure government jobs for one of the family members of Masood and Fazil, he added.

“The provocative statements of BJP leaders led to the murders of Masood and Fazil. The government has failed in maintaining law and order in the state,” he alleged.
