Bengaluru: The capital city of Karnataka turned into tears after the great personality of the state, also known as 'Ameere Shariat' Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ashraf Ali Baqavi passed away from this world at the age of 80, on the early morning 2:30 am on 8th September, Friday.

State's famous Islamic scholar, also well-known personality at the national and international level, Maulana Ashraf Ali was the principal of Arabic college, Madrasa Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad here at Govindpur in Bengaluru.

Maulana was serving himself as an executive member of All India Muslim personal law board. He was also an executive member of Islami Fiqh Academy and Vice-president of All India Milli Council.

After the demise of his father Hazrat Maulana Abusawood, Maulana handled the responsibility of Madrasa Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad and led it successfully till the date. He always let his life busy not only in religious contribution but also as a passionate social worker.

Sources from Bengaluru have informed, Maulana's last rites will be conducted on 9th September morning at 10:30 am in Madrasa Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad Arabic college campus.

Maulana was survived by four sons, two daughters, and lot many relatives.
