Mangaluru:  An Air India Express flight from Dubai carrying 118 passengers which was scheduled to land at midnight (12.30 hrs) at the Mangaluru International Airport on Monday was diverted to Kochi owing to adverse weather conditions in Mangaluru which was experiencing heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Meanwhile, passengers of the flight had a harrowing time as they had to spend the entire night at the Kochi airport.

Initially, the flight personnel informed the passengers that the flight would take off in half-an-hour. However the passengers remained stranded at Kochi airport the entire night.

The flight arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday morning.
