7 with travel history to Maharashtra tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttara Kannada

Bhatkal: After Gulf and Mangaluru, it's Maharashtra now making for way for deadly Coronavirus disease to enter the district of Uttara Kannada. Shockingly, seven Corona positive cases have come to light in the district on Monday, which includes four from Honnavar, two from Mundgod and one from Bhatkal, with all having travel history to Maharashtra. It was reported that as soon as they entered the district, they were placed in quarantine and their throat swab samples were sent for testing. However, the reports were received on Sunday evening, but it was officially announced on Monday.

It has been reported that the four people who have tested positive for Coronavirus in Honnavar belong to one family and are from Maagod village. According to the latest information, the four will be sent to Karwar's KIMS hospital after taking them to Honnavar government hospital.

Meanwhile, according to the reports from Mundgod, the two people who reported Corona positive on Monday were residents of Buddigera village, seven kilometres from Mundgod. They had returned to Mundgod after the lockdown was announced, but as soon as they entered Mundgod, they were placed in the official quarantine centre.

The 27-year-old Bhatkal youth whose report came to be as Corona positive was quarantined in a hotel in Murdeshwar. The report of this young man has also been officially confirmed today.

With seven new cases of Corona in the district, the tally in Uttara Kannada has increased to 48, of which 41 belong to Bhatkal alone. It may be recalled that 11 of them have recovered and discharged from the hospital.
