Kundapur: In a tragic road accident involving a collision between car and a bus on Navunda NH-66 near Kundapur, three students sustained injuries after which they were rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur. The car was heading towards Bhatkal from Kundapur.
Due to heavy rains, holiday was declared for schools and colleges in all the three coastal districts on Tuesday. It is believed that the students of a college from Bhatkal had reached Trasi for leisure on the occasion of holiday. On their way back, their car collided with a bus from rear on the Navunda NH-66 in Kundapur taluk. The front portion of the car was blown off in the crash, but the occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and survived. An eyewitness said that the bus suddenly stopped on the side, causing the car coming from behind to collide with the bus.
A local who was involved in shifting the victims to the hospital informed SahilOnline that there were two students in the front seat of the car, including driver, while there were five girl students in the back seat. The two boys in the front seat were injured in the accident, while one of girls the leg was fractured in the mishap.
