Udupi:  Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje said that 28.56 km of the road in the district will be developed.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a work, Karandlaje said that the road will be developed under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

She said that the 28.56 km will comprise eight rural roads. The roads will be developed as all-season roads and Rs 4640.67 lakh will be utilised on the project.

The road construction will comprise of small bridges and footbridges as well. The work will begin in another two weeks, she added.
