Haliyal: Two persons riding on a bike were killed on the spot after coming in collision with a KSRTC bus near Engineering college cross in Haliyal on Friday.

The deceased are identified as Manjunath Munnappa Mirashi (23) and Shivaji Ramchandra Mirashi (22), both residents of Tattigere in Haliyal taluk.

Sources informed that the mishap happened when the bike was heading towards Tattigere from Haliyal, while the bus was moving towards Haliyal from Dandeli. Both collided head-on, resulting in the instant death of two.

A case has been registered in Haliyal police station in this regard.
