Yellapur: Forest Department personnel have arrested two persons who were illegally carrying logs of teakwood in Kannigeri forest area in Yellapur taluk.

Anant Marathi and Mohan Marathi, who were carrying the logs to Amaan Wood Industries located at Talligere in Yellapur town, were caught and the logs were seized from them. Based on the statement of the accused, the forest officials also raided Amaan Wood Industries and seized illegally stocked teakwood logs. A case was registered against the industry owner Hasan Saab Kanalli. The logs seized were worth Rs 50,000.
