Udupi: The state government will recruit 16,000 police personnel in next three years, Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai said here on Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the new police housing complex here, he said that already 6,000 posts have been filled up this year and in next three years 16000 posts will be filled up which would further strengthen the police force. Besides this recruitment will be done in a transparent manner, he added.
He said, tracking the 'dark web', the police department was able to get a breakthrough about international drug mafia in the state and it was also first in the country.
He said four FSL state of the art investigating centres in Belagavi, Mysuru,Mangaluru and Kalaburagi will be launched and these would help in detecting the cyber crime cases.
He also instructed the officials to take serious note on those who involved in communal violence.
