Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district reported 11 cases, including a three-year-old child, who have tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Of the 11 positive cases, 10 have inter-state travel history from Maharashtra and one has a travel history from Gujarat. All the positive cases have been shifted to the Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru from the quarantine centres, said Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh.
The positive cases are, a 35-year old man (P2,285), who had arrived from Maharashtra on May 15 and was in a quarantine centre at Ullal, his family member, a 35-year-old woman (P2,286), who was also in quarantine; a 46- year-old man (P2287), 11-year old girl (P-2,288), a 59-year-old woman (P2,289), who were in a quarantine centre at Ullal, three-year-old child (P2290) who was at a house in Bajpe, after arriving from Maharashtra, a 37-year-old woman (P2326), a 39-year-old man (P2,329), and a 17-year-old girl (2,330), who were at a quarantine centre in Puttur after returning from Mumbai on May 16, a 45-year-old woman (P2327), who arrived from Mumbai on May 17 and was in a quarantine centre at Belthangady and a 22-year-old man (P2,328), who
arrived from Gujarat and was in a quarantine centre at Ullal.
Active cases
Dakshina Kannada district has registered a total of 81 positive cases with 45 active cases so far. Till Wednesday, 8,047 samples have been sent for testing in Dakshina Kannada. Three patients -- a 26-year-old man from Karkala, a 50-year-old woman from Karkala and a 38-year-old woman from Darandabagilu have been recovered and discharged from hospital on Wednesday.
Udupi
Udupi district recorded 9 cases on Wednesday with the total number of cases reaching 120. The results of 7,016 samples are pending in the district. A total of 1,158 swab samples were sent for testing to the labs on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner G Jagadheesh said all 9 persons who tested positive had returned from Maharashtra and were in a quarantine centre. The infected are now shifted to TMA Pai Covid hospital.
