Karwar: "Uttara Kannada district is still intact and undivided. Whenever the district has to be divided, it will be necessary to consult with public representatives and leaders of the district. I will speak with Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri about his views on the need for separate Sirsi district, after which I will also offer my opinion", said Uttara Kannada district In-Charge Minister Shivram Hebbar.

Talking to reporters after attending an event here at Tagore Beach in Karwar, the Minister said that he haven't listened to Speaker Kageri speaking of making Sirsi a separate district. In this regard, as a district In-Charge Minister, still I will talk to him. I will get information from Mr. Kageri about the reasons and requirements for making Sirsi a separate district. At present, Uttara Kannada district is intact. In order to divide the district or create a new district, one has to consult with the Member of Parliament, District Assembly members, and other public representatives. A decision will be taken after considering the pros and cons, he added.

On this occasion, Karwar MLA Rupali Naik, DC Dr. Harish Kumar and others were present.
