Karwar,: District In-charge Secretary Munish Moudgil has directed the officers of the district administration to record information related to supply of drinking water through tankers using a mobile app.
Speaking at a meeting of officers regarding various issues including tackling drinking water problems in Uttara Kannada district in Karwar recently, Moudgil said that temporarily supplying drinking water to places in need was right. But instead of using GPS trackers to know how much water was being supplied, it was better to record it using a mobile app.
“Supplying water through tankers is a temporary solution. But it is always better to find permanent solutions by harnessing the existing water sources. Projects in this regard must be planned and executed,” he said.
‘No shortage of funds’
Moudgil also asked the officers to ensure that drinking water problem does not trouble the people till the rainy season begins in the district. He said that there was no shortage of funds for this purpose. It would be good if the on-going permanent drinking water projects were completed on time.
Deputy Commissioner K Harishkumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nagraj Singrer, Assistant Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi, Abjijeet, Preethi Gehlot, Sajid Ahmed Mulla and other officers attended the meeting.
