Bhatkal: 'The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center' under the banner of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management, Bhatkal was inaugurated on Saturday, by Mohiuddiin Ruknaddin, College Board Secretary, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal.

In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Arun Shanbhag, Chief Innovation Officer, MAHE, Manipal, participated in the program as a special guest through Zoom Online Videography. In his live video address, he said it was not possible for governments to provide jobs for everyone. On the contrary, we have to fulfill our responsibilities in this regard. We have to find innovative ways ourselves and provide employment to the people.  This will be called as Entrepreneurship. "Many jobs have been lost due to modern technology. In these circumstances, it is not good for us to be disappointed, nor is it appropriate to talk about training and advancing our old staff," he said. Rather, we need to take a closer look at our society and situation, study it better, adopt innovation and focus on local issues. Innovation does not mean new creations but the creative use of technology, he noted.

In the program, 1985 batch alumni Kiran Vithal and Vishwanath Honnayya explained the aims and objectives of the center. Shivanand Yalgar and Director Dr. Veerana S. Hawaldar, expressed their views as the guest of honor. Surya Narayan Rao, Head Professor, Department of Makers Space, MITID Pune, delivered a farewell message. Alumni Sainath Tagri of 1985 batch presented his views. College Principal Dr. Mushtaq Bhavikatte highlighted the importance of the center. Kazia Muzammil, president of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, presided over the function. Syed Sheihan, the winner of the logo competition at the event, was awarded a prize.

The program began with the recitation of the versus from holy Qur'an by Prof. Abdul Muqit. Prof. Shri Shail Bhat and Umm Farwa compered the event. Dr. Anant Murthy Shastri, Director of the Center, delivered vote of thanks.
