Kumta: In view of enhancing awareness about health and fitness, the Indian Medical Association and Indian Dental Association, in association with Godwin Cycles Kumta, organized 'Fit Kumta, fit India' Cyclothan rally on Sunday.

The Cyclothan, which began from Nellikeri bus stand in the town, was accompanied by hundreds of senior citizens, youth and children. Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty too participated in the rally. The Cyclothan rally passed through Bastipeth, Chitragi, before culminating at Mahatma Gandhi ground, where a stage program was chaired.

Speaking after inaugurating the program, MLA Dinakar Shetty, said, self-confidence among the human plays a vital role in success. He praised the organizers for giving a message of health through this initiative.

In the program, Anil Naik who represented India in weight lifting and Dr Naazim Khan, a Gold medalist at International Para table tennis games, were felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

On this occasion, Rotary Club Kumta President Suresh Bhat, Medical Association President Dr Namrata Shanbag and many others were present.
