Mangaluru: Former MLA Moideen Bava dared RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat to take a truth test in a temple that none from Brahmin community consume beef.

Bava accused MLA Dr Bharat Shetty of spearheading a misinformation campaign against him during elections by declaring that the cow sheds would remain empty if Bava was elected as MLA.

“You have been elected by swearing protection to cows. But cattle in Kenjar have been pushed to streets. Both the MLA and the government had failed to take any steps on keeping cattle safe.

Bava also announced donating Rs one lakh for building a temporary shed for cattle. He said his brother and MLC Farooq had promised to contribute Rs five lakh from MLC funds.

He also urged the BJP to stop indulging in politicking and make arrangements for protecting cows.

Owner of Kapila Gau Shaala Prakash Shetty said the BJP, instead of providing protection to cows, had taken sides with those consuming beef.
