‘No shortage of vaccines in DK, Udupi’

Mangaluru/Udupi: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts didn't face any shortage of vaccine vials on Thursday.

Dakshina Kannada District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Kishore Kumar told DH that a supply of 16,000 vials was expected on Thursday evening.

"We are also promised an additional supply of 14,000 vaccine vials," the DHO added.

As on Wednesday, 42% of the total 2.1 lakh elderly people had received the vaccination doses. 12% of 4.15 lakh people above 45 years and suffering from comorbidity had received vaccination.

Udupi Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha said there were 12,000 vaccine vials and there was no shortage. Another 13,000 vaccine vials will be delivered tomorrow (Friday), he added.
