Bhatkal: "Three positions are considered very important in the system of government i.e District Magistrate, Chief Minister and Prime Minister. They play a vital role in the implementation of any government policy. I have resigned from my post of DC in protest of the goodwill of my country and for participating in the struggle for its integrity and solidarity. Although people are calling it a great sacrifice, I don't think I have made any sacrifice. In fact, I resigned at the right time because I was not satisfied with the government's policies and my conscience did not allow me to implement them, which is why I had to resign in protest", stated Shashi Kumar Senthil, former Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru.
Talking to the leaders of Bhatkal's well-known social and political body Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, he said about the construction of India of dreams. He said hatred and enmity which is hot in the country at present is a threat. On the other hand, we have to work with constructive and positive thinking and goodwill, so that the integrity, brotherhood and unity of the country can be strengthened. For this, we must all work together.
The former IAS officer said that wherever educated children are oppressed, it is a sign of fascism. Propaganda is their main weapon. Fascism, in order to gain a foothold, tries to control the same advertising agencies that run newspapers, channels, etc. Then through this, they keep themselves busy in brainwashing the people and making them sympathetic. At present we are witnessing everything like this in the country. He said, what is happening today is not just a manipulation of sectarian politics but a conspiracy to change the India we created in 1947. They might be followers of any religion but there are some who want to spoil India.
Explaining the importance of the Constitution, he said that all the freedom we are enjoying today is the gift of the Constitution of our country. The Constitution has given us a lot and now we need to do something for our Constitution and the country. Our generation will never forgive us if we do not do it today. Explaining the purpose of his visit to Bhatkal, he said that we now need a media to spread our voice far and wide, which we are trying to start.
Gujarat Assembly member Jignesh Mewani in his address, said, we all need to wake up to face the lies being spread by fascism. Referring to the ongoing farmers' protests against fascism, he said that when international celebrities took to the streets in support of the farmers' protests, Indian film personalities and the entire cricket team were forced to respond. In fact, it is the weakness of fascism that is making such moves. He emphasized that the loss or destruction in the world is not due to bad people but to the silence of good people. At present, the largest population in the country is Dalit, minority, tribal and other backward classes. Despite this, we are being persecuted. Won't we wake up to all this? We still have time to wake up, he noted.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vasu, Editor of a Kannada daily from Bangalore, emphasized on the importance and necessity of media and outlined the need to set up a media.
Tanzeem General Secretary Abdul Raqeeb MJ Nadvi welcomed the guests and introduced the guests. Some officials from Bhatkal and surrounding areas including those of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem were present on the occasion.
